Bagdad 2:45am

Boy did that 10 days go fast. I cant believe it is already over and I'm on the go again. I'm stuck in Bagdad there are no flights to were I am going till friday. (it is 2:45am thursday) There are no words to express how greatful I am for everything everyone has done for Dina and I. I was stunned to how nice my house and garage looked. And how many people came to my party. It was so nice to see everyone. The comfort so many provide for Dina Provides so much for me as well. My poor puppies looked like they are starving. Except for the 50 extra pounds they have around there belly they look like they dont eat. Iraq does not look any diffrent. It is still just dirt. The people here have a long road ahead of them. Getting over years of bitter fighting will not be easy. I had the oppertunity while I was at home to do some fenceing mending of my own. It was long over due. Some times admitting when your wrong is harder than you think. I had not talked to my friends Wynn and Tamar for many years. I really missed them but was to pridefull to step up and due the right thing. I'm very greatful that I have such forgiving friends. I have learned being 6000 miles away and in my old age good friends are few and far between. Pride is not a good friend or comforting when you are alone. I am half way done with my contract almost. I was so sure I was going to do a second year. Now all I want is to get home to my wounderful wife for good. I'm still very appericative for the oppertunity God has given me to come here and learn and see how lucky we are to live in America. I will be praying in the future that I really appericat my country and life that I live. Compared to so many around the world we have so much. Well I am going to try and go back to sleep. I have a 7am meeting just to tell me I'm not flying today. I already know that. But I want to thank everyone who has done so much for Dina and I words can not express the gratitude I feel for all that has been done.
LOVE Jim

Dear Jim,

It was wonderful seeing you and being with you and your beautiful family. I had a wonderful time. I will treasure the ring always. I went straight to the jewelers when I got back and had it sized so I can wear it. I can see why you love Dina so much she has a heart of gold.

I have been busy helping Uncle since I got back. I think now the apartment is rented and we can sit back and relax for a while.

Your puppies look to me like they have never missed a meal. YOU LOOK LIKE YOU NEED TO GAIN A FEW POUNDS.

It is music to my ears hearing you say you will come home when your year is up.

You are always in my thoughts and in my prayers.

Love,

Mom

It was great to have you back home for those few days. Maybe you should sign a second year......ha ha, just kidding! I completely understand what you are saying about getting over things that have happened in the past. It is one of the tuffest things that I have had to do. Like you said, that pride gets in the way all of the time. I continually have to think of what one of my Stake Presidents taught us once. He said that if Christ is able to forgive us for the MANY things that we have done and continue to do, who are we not to forgive? That statement continues to ring in my head all the time, yet my pride continues to fight back.

Anyways! The girls sure loved to see ya! We look forward to having you back home again! Seriously.

P.S. I sold your tools on eBay for $250! J/K

Jim,

I am sending off my latest notes from institute and our monthly FHE that we have an entire family. Of course Dina was invited. We had another tri tip steak we enjoyed the one your shared with us so much. Now you are on the downward climb calendar wise. The time seems to go faster when you are couting down. At least it felt that way when Brian was in Brazil and Ethan S. Korea.

Hey Jim! I just bought a great set of tools off E-bay for $250. I think you'll be shocked at what a great deal I got when you see them in a few months.
